Webb17 sep. 2014 · When "The Ruby Throne" opens, Elric, the albino emperor, has been ruling the island of Melnibone for thousands of years, extending his life and gathering strength through a mixture of magic and herbs. But Elric feels the command of his increasingly more decadent people slipping. WebbElric is an intentional inversion of Conan: instead of a mighty Brawny barbarian warrior who fights his way to the top and gains the throne of Aquilonia (which is a country about a hundred miles north of Elric's kingdom), Elric is a weak and sickly but highly cultured emperor who throws the throne of Melniboné away.
